Goodbye 80s...

My plans for today include restaining the wood baseboards for the kitchen. 

Today begins the flooring replacement in the kitchen and mudroom/laundry room. The old 80s tile floor will be removed and replaced with vinyl plank. We chose Smartcore Pro "Twilight." The challenge was finding something that would go with the 150 year old oak floors that cover the majority of the first floor.

We had used this vinyl plank in the half bath and decided to carry the same look through the rest of hte first floor. 

When we pulled the baseboards we uncovered a layer of wallpaper from the 70s. We are hoping hte new flooring will allow us to put the baseboards back, but the height of the new flooring may challaenge us to find new baseboards.
