I've been spending time video-chatting with mom, as much as possible. I don't know why we didn't do this years ago. A little positive of the pandemic, using technology to connect.

She has used her iPad to show me deer in the yard, things in her kitchen, and project she's working on. Most days she catches me up on the news commentary of the day, and her latest read or book club news.

Dad is usually in the background, and will join the conversation when he has a comment to add.
