19 may be the hardest year yet

A year ago I drove to campus and picked up my daughter. She returned home, having withdrawn completely from University.

Over the course of the next year we faced many challenges. Slowly she began to share her experience. Not all students go away to college and find the "best years."

She worked as many as three jobs at a time, trying to piece together enough hours to work full time. She changed jobs for better pay, or better scheduling with her other jobs, or because of layoff.

This fall she returned to college. She is living at home and working 30 hours a week at one job.
